Jordi García Brustenga

Biografía

Born in Barcelona in 1973, he holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from Pompeu Fabra University, an Executive Master's in Public Administration (EMPA) from ESADE, and an official Master's degree in Strategic Management and Corporate Communication from the University of Vic.

Since July 2025, he has served as Secretary of State for Industry at the Ministry of Industry and Tourism. In this role, he is responsible for developing policies to support industrial development, transformation, and SMEs, including proposing legislative and regulatory initiatives within his area of responsibility. He also oversees the implementation of the final phase of the European funds under Spain's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, building on the experience gained during his previous role as Director General for Industrial Strategy and SMEs. In that position, he led the Industry and Strategic Autonomy Bill, coordinated several sectoral strategic plans, and represented Spain in industrial and SME policy discussions within the European Union.

Prior to this, he spent five years as Director of Operations and Head of the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Development Department at ENISA. During his final year there, he led the regulatory and operational implementation of Spain's Startup Law (Law 28/2022) and managed ENISA's financing programmes for innovative SMEs and the startup certification process.

Earlier in his career, he worked across the public, private, and academic sectors, developing projects and managing organisations focused on industrial and business activity and the public policies that support them. He has also authored several articles published in leading professional and academic journals.
